Lately I've been making pieces like this where a mini oil painting sits inside a figurative wood frame. The mini painting is meant to match the movement and mood of each figure, somewhat like a window into how the figure is feeling. This one is titled 'Growing Sideways'.

For the past 5-ish years I've been collaborating with my dad on Lunar New Year drawings but this year we made a painting together! This piece will be shown and sold at Helvella Art in Oakland, opening on 1/21 6-9PM.

Re-sharing this collab with @baronfig now that it’s 2023! I illustrated the cover of their 2023 planner. The artwork represents the seasons we live through in a year, both figuratively and literally. It reminds us of how we show up for ourselves everyday, rain or shine ✨
