Congratulations to all who took part in Poetry Aloud 2024 today! This year’s #PoetryAloud competition drew 358 entries from schools across the island. There were 29 finalists in this year’s competition from across 15 counties, from Antrim to Kerry, to Dublin to Mayo.

Well done to Rita Ní Mhaidín who took part in the national Poetry Aloud Final. Rita was one of 29 finalists. She did us proud reading ‘The Door’ by Miroslav Holub, and she received a cert and a goodie bag from the Director of the @NLIreland Well done Rita!

Look what we have here 👀 This glass atomiser consists of a twist-removable rubber body, nozzle, pump and tubing. Atomisers like this would have been used for the throat, nose and ear in the application of liquids and sprays. This one is from the mid-20th century. MIMM/2009-1/18
