In the new year, I'm hoping to explore podcast + documentary production as well as dipping my toe back into the writing world + continuing to make the social media landscape work for me. If you're looking for a soft girl to tell stories in any of these formats, get in touch.

I want to speak to other humans, tell important stories and be a decent person while doing it. I want to use my softness to connect. I want kindness to be what helps me succeed, not fail.

It's shown me that I have the power to back myself when the chips are down. Above all else, I've realised I'm a people person, not a shark, and that's something I need to reframe as a positive rather than a character flaw.

I've left a job that I felt was part of my DNA + made big swings that didn't work out. This isn't where I thought I'd be at 30. What this year has given me is time to reflect on what I enjoy, where my skillsets lie, the areas I want to explore + the behaviours I won't tolerate.

2024 has been a big year career-wise for me. I haven't won any awards, or created any groundbreaking content. It's been a year where I've had to adapt to a changing landscape, battle dwindling budgets + huge expectations and have at times struggled to keep my head above water.

Having worked at Time Out on + off since 2019 (I loved it too much to stay away) + eventually becoming Senior Social Media Editor, it's time for me to embark on a new adventure. From October I'll be taking on the role of Social Media Lead at @Netmums. Watch this space.

I worked with David back in 2020. His voice was his strength and I'm amazed at what he went on to do with it, raising awareness of the atrocities taking place in Ukraine and keeping the public updated years after the invasion had fallen from the headlines. He will be missed.
