Terrific story about a truly inspirational pair of families: An NBA veteran and the emergency transplant that saved his life - via @ESPN App
espn.com
Sixteen months ago, Scot Pollard was in active heart failure, about to die. Then came a life-saving transplant, uniting two families -- and two fathers -- forever.

For the fifth time @JudgePeterSakai captivated a capacity crowd today at his State of the County event. Sponsored by the Metro SA Chamber, 400 people packed the Grand Hyatt ballroom to hear his thoughts on the Spurs arena and a variety of pressing issues.

Eyes got a little dusty reading this wonderful tribute to Pop by award-winning columnist @mikefinger Bet this one becomes another trophy on Mike’s mantle!.
“Victor was not the first alien in this organization.”. On the supernaturally intimidating, impossibly strong-willed, extraordinarily flexible, overwhelmingly beloved Gregg Popovich, a man inextricable from his job, his franchise and his people.

Great cover story on @JudgePeterSakai in the new July/August San Antonio Lawyer magazine. Kudos to Steve Peirce who wrote the article and Mewborne Photography for the images.

Another terrific read from @DanaBenbow. I continue to be amazed at the unique angles y'all come up with year after year to make the 500 fresh and relevant to all. Keep 'em coming.
The room at IMS is filled with mundane items --trash bags, paper towel dispensers, a rolled up red carpet to be unfurled for celebrities who come to the track in May. But there is also a secret stash of 125-year-old bricks that tells a fascinating story.

Purdue came up short against dynastic UConn but @GreggDoyelStar had a championship run of insightful columns from Phoenix.
Purdue didn't win last night against UConn, but I'm saying the Boilers were playing with house money simply by getting to the NCAA title game. And Braden Smith? After the game he had Saturday, to do THAT against UConn? He's a champion.

He’s a technical in the making.
I've been busy with Purdue, so I don't know but . is UConn coach Dan Hurley always like this with the officials? Not just complaining, but pleading and gesturing and stomping and pouting and running onto the court and looking on the verge of tears at times. This what he does?.

For every Boilermaker, especially the ones who played in the early 2000’s, this picture not only makes you proud, but makes your heart swell with loyalty. Ever Grateful 🚂🆙 #Purdue #DrewandGene

Wonderful, poignant story by @zkeefer, just like everything he writes. RIP Vontae.
New column: Mercurial and misunderstood, Vontae Davis was as kind as any player I covered on the Colts. He was also one of the NFL's best cornerbacks, a fiery competitor who'd brawl with teammates in practice then hug them after. "Such a tragedy. ".

For displaced @boilerball fans nationwide, getting to read @GreggDoyelStar’s columns setting up and following each NCAA game during this magical tourney enhances the indescribable joy we are all experiencing even that much more. He is an absolute must read for Boiler Nation.
Purdue ends its Final Four drought, bringing tears to the eyes of Matt Painter, Gene Keady and Robbie Hummel. And Mason Gillis, Julia Edey and Gov. Holcomb. And more. But Robbie Hummel . oh my am I happy for him.
