"Follow the gradient" That's great. We are learning so much from open source, shipping, screwing up and figuring it out. Plans are good, reality is better.
I have never seen it expressed exactly like that, but I wholeheartedly endorse it:. Feedback beats planning. My plea at Meta was “No grand plans, follow the gradient of user value”.

I like this, you need intensity. Not sure this is just a CEO thing. I really like working with a team where everybody is psyched by the goal and the spur each other on. It's worth all the effort what it happens.

There is a shift in what is doable. We used to have many more constraints in materials, analysis and fabrication. Everything was hard and that’s reflected in the solutions. We’re in a new era. We have compute, analysis, AI, fast fabrication. If it’s hard, reevaluate your plan.

This is cool. Many things are self referential. Math is based on axioms. Gödel might have proved it. I see self preferentialism happen in companies, that's why customers are so important. But metaphysically that just moves the boundaries. Of course software is no exception.
