I left Twitter on Dec 17, 2022, right after Elon took over: https://t.co/EfR8C0K1Af Today, I’m back and posting on Twitter. So, what changed? Did all my reasons for leaving get fixed or am I just a hypocrite? Neither. Full explanation here: https://t.co/4iIMhQhK2q

Things are bad. They don’t have to stay that way. But we should probably think about how we got here. A Crisis of Nurture https://t.co/d6orYWqJ85

This year, I’m focused on more workshops, more keynotes, and deeper consulting. If you need help with brand strategy, picking the right productivity tool, or stepping into a new leadership role, we should talk. Tell me the dent you want to make. https://t.co/tTWmZSPJMd

We all make waves and dents around us, every day. Most happen by accident. I try to be deliberate about my impact. One way is by helping people make their impact by designing the right strategy, picking the right tech stack, and communicating authentically and powerfully.

They told us exactly what they were going to do. They even wrote it down and put it online. Now they’re doing it. The people saying “you’re overreacting” back then are saying “protest non-violently” and “get out and vote in the midterms” now. Seeing patterns is exhausting.

This post looks at why we protect what we do, how that’s shaped by identity and values, and what happens when we outsource protection to systems that keep us passive. Full post here:

Protection is the willingness to intervene to interrupt or prevent harm. What will you protect? Your family? Your values? A stranger? Challenge yourself to expand that circle.

Protection is the willingness to intervene to prevent harm. Not after. Not eventually. Not when someone else steps in. Before. 🧵

Every time I learn about space, I’m reminded of how profoundly petty humanity is. Here we are, floating through eternity together on spaceship Earth, and we have a non-zero population of people who are ok with destroying the spaceship, or their co-passengers. Mind boggling 🤯

Sometimes, you just need to cut loose, ya know? For me, that’s baking. This is an awesome video, and refreshing break from everything going on right now. A breath of fresh air, if you will. Here’s how to make the perfect chocolate chip cookie:

I wonder if my crippling anxiety lately had anything to do with gangs of masked thugs all over the country committing acts of violence with impunity on behalf of our illegitimate authoritarian executive branch? Perhaps too much caffeine?

The future state of any relationship is a perpetual function of the present state of that relationship. Said differently, how your treat people NOW, shapes what that relationship looks like later. You shape how people will think about and talk about you in the future.

Despite society and work cultures that run almost exclusively on a single schedule, the truth is we would all thrive with a more flexible schedule. Today’s question: When do you have the most energy and are you making the effort to sync your schedule with your bio clock?

In the User Guide Sessions, a workshop my company does with organizations, we often ask participants when they have the most energy during the day. We’ve never once had a room where everyone had the same answer.

I just finished the book summary for The Power of When by Michael Breus, PhD. It goes through the different sleep chronotypes and explains the biochemistry for why different people have different energy patterns throughout the day. It got me thinking...
