The UK's government is psychotic.
The UK’s Prime Minister is proposing giving free weight-loss drugs such as Ozempic to unemployed obese people in order to encourage them to work:. “[The drug is] very important for our NHS, because, yes we need more money for the NHS, but we've also got to think differently.”

There's an easier line of criticism here imo: irrespective of whether we can meaningfully define a "Science" existing in ideal apolitical form separate from context, EDUCATION is political. A whole host of politics and value judgements go into deciding what to teach and how.
I teach computer science and challenge him to find any politics in my class. When political opinions start meddling with scholarship, it ceases being science and becomes activism.
