100 years ago today, Ray Chapman was hit by Carl Mays at the Polo Grounds.
After his death, the Chapman Memorial Committee had this plaque created and placed at League Park. It has taken a long path to the current location in Heritage Park.
Coming soon to the display case at The Corner Bar (and now part of the archive)

The Guardians are 3-0. This marks the fourth time in club history that they've scored 6 or more runs in each of the first three games to start a season: 2024, 1998, 1923, 1922.

I usually don’t buy too much but really liked this pic of the
@TowerLightsCLE
with the baseball flag. This pic is dated 1928. When the flag flew, fans new the scheduled game was a go.
⚾️I believe the last photo evidence of the 1948 WS Flag was in June 1976. Bill Veeck returned and addressed the fans in attendance.
Where did that flag end up?
Born on this day, baseball legend Satchel Paige. Sunday marks the 75th anniversary of his

One of the coolest artifacts I’ve gotten to handle. Larry Doby’s 1947 contract. If you are in Columbus, the
@OhioHistory
currently has it on loan and on display
Also if you haven’t read
@LukeEpplin
‘s book, please do so.
This day in 1920, Cleveland captured the franchise's first title in a 3-0 win. Over the course of the last three games, Cleveland held Brooklyn to 1 run!
Last night was the first time since 1963 that
@CleGuardians
won a game with 2R being sac flies. (5/3/63). Sudden Sam was knocked out of the game by a line drive. Gary Bell got the win. RBI: Woodie Held and Fred Whitfield (h/t

In continuing our celebration of Black History Month, we are showcasing some of the unsung heroes of Cleveland baseball throughout the years.
Former All-Star and MLB Players Alumni Association founder, Chuck Hinton, franchise record-holder for 163 games played in a season, Leon…

⚾️ Bob Feller set quite a few

records during his time on the mound. One that still stands (tied w/Corey Kluber) is 18 strikeouts in a 9 inning game.

I’ve been recording podcast with our

I figure it could be fun to get fan questions. Is there anything you’d want me to ask Rajai?

Mother’s are superheros. My wife isn’t on twitter so she won’t see this but she gave birth to our son last night and was a champ. The strongest person I know.

Andrés Giménez was hit by a pitch for the 4th time in the first 8 games of the season.
⚾️He joins Bill Bradley who also had 4 HBP in the first 8 games in 1908.
⚾️He was actually hit twice in the same AB on April 24th

⚾️First up: Jim Thome's record setting 2nd Postseason Grand Slam
An early version of the All-Star Game, the Addie Joss Benefit game at League Park ranks among one of baseball's most star-studded games in the first part of the century.
About five minutes after taking this photo, I split the seem in the back of my pants. I then spent the rest of the afternoon/game in the suite with two of baseballs all-time greats. 😂 I don’t know if Hank knew but if he did, he didn’t say anything.
Happy New Year!
@CleGuardians
have never had a number one overall draft pick (until now). However there have been several number two picks including: Paul Shuey.
