I've not done nearly enough to invest in the next generation of music and audiovisual pros. So it was an honor to present ideas and possibilities to a couple of high school groups. There are far more opportunities in our fields than most would expect and that's a passion of mine.

This little beauty from the late ’70’s showed up serendipitously on this National #TechiesDay. It’s the first mic I bought when I was learning to record drums. I didn’t do it justice back then, but perhaps now we can partner together for some sweet, funk, dead drum sounds.

I vividly remember being 10 years old. The US Bicentennial was in full swing, everything was red, white and blue, and our family car was a “Spirit of America” Chevy Impala. It was also the year I discovered something far more enduring - wisdom.

It’s easy to fall into our comfort zones, even in the act of trying to get out of them. It can be difficult to stop and analyze whether we are optimizing a decision or simply relying on what we already have. This could lead to a mixed bag of results. 🔗
