I have to say, Elon’s response here is a masterclass on how to professionally and politely say “no”. All students should watch this clip and learn how to say “no” so that they know what to do when put on the spot like this. You can say no and still be polite, good skill to have.

Yay Australia got FSD! Roads are thinner, have lots of trams on them - so I wanna see ALOTTA videos of FSD handling hook turns in Melbourne! (A scary right turn from the left side that I avoided religiously!) 😁. FSD cars are gonna be the roos of the road! 💕.

Just wanna post this here and say that, if a car is to be fully autonomous in Alaska, the car must successfully navigate snowy roads, especially know how to deal with black ice. So LiDAR is probably out of luck….
@raines1220 LiDAR also does not work well in snow, rain or dust due to reflection scatter. That’s why Waymos stop working in any heavy precipitation. As I have said many times, there is a role for LiDAR in some circumstances and I personally oversaw the development of LiDAR for the SpaceX.
