If 2016 is a guide, there'll be a push to anoint some author from a big commercial publishing house as the person who can explain what's happening. We've seen how that goes, and it's one reason that support for independent publishers and their books is more important than ever.

it’s worth noting these lecturers had been negotiating for better pay in the several months before this decision, which is not only heartless but spits in the face of students as well, who flocked to these courses (some of the most popular for undergrads) for at least a decade

It’s taken four years and a not-insignificant amount of therapy for me to be ready to do this, but as I’ve been writing so much about the crisis in maternity care, I thought it was important I shared my own story. So here goes... 🧵 https://t.co/NylycxqzRr

Y’all, I’m still reeling. I lost both my editor and publisher yesterday in one fell swoop! My editor/publisher @likaluca was the first person to tell me it was time for me to write down my story. She is responsible for my 2 book deal at Pantheon for a sum that makes me giddy.
