Graduated with an art degree in games. 90% of what I learned was absolutely useless and not relevant to getting a job in the industry. I ONLY got a job due to personal portfolio work from techniques I picked up on youtube and a ton of practice. This is such a dumbass take.

This is such a weird complaint. First off, Hunt IS a competitive game. It's even marketed a so. If you play it for fun that's fine but this an integral part of showing player skill progress. Second - this screen isn't even shown by default. You have to click onto it ?
You know what I hope for in future UI updates for @HuntShowdown ? The ability to hide MMR completely the team details. It's sad that I have to get MMR flashed every time I want to get some closure of a game. I have no interest in knowing my own or enemies' MMR, I play for fun.

On February 21st, 2021, I created and released a patch for Bloodborne which makes the game run at 60fps. Today I received a DMCA takedown notification on behalf of Sony Interactive Entertainment asking that I remove links to the patch I posted on the internet, so I've now done so

2/2 .... VAST number of resources out there showing the gamedev process. It honestly feels like 90% of university courses are scared indsutry workflows. So many of my university class dropped games soon as they graduated because they realised they hadn't learned a useful thing.

The number of students I know who have gone through the entire university process in " game art " only for their entire portfolio to be untextured , low poly assets rendered entirely in 3DS Max is ...depressing. universities need to do a lot better. Especially with the... 1/2
Speaking to my nephew who is in his final (3rd) year of university studying game development. One of his assignments was "Emerging Technology". Where he has to explain how VR and other tech is useful... ...I asked him if he knew what trim sheets were and he had no clue.
