Can someone close to leftist politics in the US explain Noam Chomsky’s connection to Jeffrey Epstein? Given Chomsky’s anarcho-syndicalist background, I was surprised by his friendship with an investment banker? Cc: @knish_of_death

This event took place yesterday evening (I did not attend). The United Church of Canada has an active anti-🇮🇱 program, which is ironic because 🇮🇱’s Christian minority (mainly Palestinian/Arab) has more security than the ✝️ community in nearby lands like Egypt, Syria etc.
I’m not a member of this church but I wonder if they acknowledge that Bethlehem was a Jewish community in the 1st century and Jesus had a Jewish (not Palestinian) identity. Jesus is recorded as interacting w/ non-Jews like Samaritans but was a Jew like most of his community.

I hadn’t realized that the federal government was shifting to British spelling; Canadian spelling does have some overlaps with it. I think retaining 🇨🇦 spelling is the right move.

Kudos to this man who saved lives on Bondi Beach; I also wish Ahmed a full and speedy recovery.
The unarmed civilian hero who stopped the terrorist at the Chanukah party in Sydney and seized his rifle is Ahmed El Ahmad. Ahmed, 43, a father of two and a fruit shop owner, risked his life to save others. He was shot during the attack and is scheduled for surgery tonight.

I’m with Selina and the #Jewish community. Even after the cessation of major hostilities in Gaza, there are still anti-🇮🇱 events in our cities that call for “intifada”, which really means killing Jews. I will continue to use my voice to oppose this hate.
This 👇🏼…. So many of us have been warning our leaders of where ‘globalize the intifada’ would take us. This is on those of you who wouldn’t listen.
