It took me a while to figure out how to debug Rails applications and RSpec tests in VS Code. Finally got it working using the great Ruby LSP extension. I summarized the steps in a blog post 👇🏻

Have just deployed a new Rails application to a VPS. I'm still amazed how easy it is when using Kamal.

Of course the first level support, with whom I was talking was not able to help and forwarded the issue to the second level support. Now it can take up to 24 hours until the issue is resolved!.

Over the course of the last few days I have observed a decrease in download speed of my fiber connection. Decided to call the technical support. They suggested to restart the router. Now I have no Internet connection at all!.

Remember when building a website was as easy as FTPing a PHP script to a server?. Why hasn’t 30 years of innovation and progress in technology made web development simpler? 🤔. Listening to the recent conversation between @lexfridman and @dhh, sparked this question. Despite.

“Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast.”. Hasty coding breeds errors, potentially grinding projects to a halt eventually. A smooth process is the key to speed. Methodical steps - clear requirements, modular design, automated testing - create seamless development cycles. By slowing.

Deploying an application to production is still a special and stressful event for far too many software development teams. To me, this has a bad smell. Shipping code to production should be the easiest thing for a software development team. Ideally, anyone in the team should.
