Quite the unfortunate missing letter (!!) in this Oxfordshire headline and article link... "Study finds Oxfordshire's Jonathan Bailey to be sexist man in Bridgerton" https://t.co/Rm5AWsh4ib .

What started as a conference in Covidtide is finally in print, offering a deep dive into Deliverance from theological, scriptural, mental health, anthropological, cultural, and safeguarding perspectives. So grateful to the amazing authors in this volume and especially co-editors.

Really delighted this work from and for Lambeth over the last 5 years will be available more widely: reflections, bible studies, and 5 homilies (from @esthermombo, @pauloueti, Isabelle Hamley, +Paul Swarup, and @jenn_straw). Also, this new book by @BenFulford1 looks excellent.

For Paul folks considering SBL in San Diego this year, take a look at the Pauline Theology section and the call for papers inviting paper proposals exploring questions related to both (1) the interpretation of Pauline ethics and (2) the ethics of Pauline interpretation.

One of my wonderful students had his first journal article published recently: Hunter Brown 'The "Law of Christ" in Ignatius of Antioch' in Early Christianity 14.1 (2023). So happy for Hunter!

Hmm...Nicaea alone resolved little, may have involved physical violence amongst some attendees, needed theology clarified/fought again at later councils incl. the creed in its name, & those anathematised took over church/empire w/in 100 yrs & arguments still find support today.
"Wait for the Lord
be strong and he shall comfort your heart
wait patiently for the Lord." That's my prayer today for those at Synod. Can't help feeling this process has been very rushed. Waiting and pondering usually pays off in the end. It took us 300 years to get to Nicaea.
