Hi #WritersOfTwitter! I’m Jen, a chronically ill/disabled writer from the Detroit area (go Lions!). I’ve recently found myself unagented, so I’m switching things up and going back to my ‘90s nostalgia, found family/girlfriends novel. #amquerying soon!
can we bring back #WritersOfTwitter again? i would love to meet some new writer friends (& hype up the ones i’m lucky to know already) so go ahead and (re)introduce yourself! 👀💕

These covers. 😍😍 New author goal unlocked: covers that match up on the front like this. I’ve seen spines that extend artwork, which is also gorgeous. But this pretty much ensures face-out treatment!
My third book is out in the world TODAY!! You’ve Found Oliver is the spin off of You’ve Reached Sam. It’s a time slip romance about finding the one you love in every universe

The WHO never said the pandemic was over, and I'm sorry you were mislead by corporate interests that wanted you to prop up the economy with your health by going back into the office, spending, and traveling. Here is the WHO in Jan 2024, and December 2024 stating the facts.

HEALTH UPDATE: It has officially been one year since I contracted Covid-19 while on set for my movie that I’ve been working on. I was once a very healthy 31-year old man, but now every day is a struggle for me. A THREAD... 🧵

I think it shows publishing’s ableism and erases part of our history.

Absolutely 100% the WRONG move. This is how history managed to forget about the 1918 'flu. We are in year 5 of an unending pandemic. We cannot erase it, not even in fiction.

marginalized people. I am writing a book set in 2024 and I want it to be "dated." I want readers to know what living through Covid as a disabled person is like. If publishing truly values marginalized voices, and I want to believe we do, then books like this are necessary. 2/2

The ongoing pandemic is erasing so many people--disabled, science-following, elderly--from society, and keeping it out of fiction removes yet another space for us. It's a significant part of this decade's story, and ignoring it means our pop culture continues to ignore 1/2

All of publishing, and my friends and family who want to understand me better. We love to see authentic #disability in books.

The death penalty is flawed, racist, and unjust. It has no place in America or anywhere else in the world. Abolish it.

HELP I'm on a medically-required super low carb diet and I need to peruse images of Dunkin's menu for book research. I have pretty good willpower but this might do me in.
