In 1989 when we released A-10 Tank Killer at Dynamix, we set up a BBS system to talk to our users. This was pre-Internet. We learned so much that community became a guiding light for me for my entire career. Don't build on rented land. #redditmeltdown

I remember when Apple's WWDC was a much watch event. Now, the world has moved on to selling Intelligence, and Apple is yammering on about glass icons. So sad.

WTF happened to @grok? I was happily using it to help me with stock strategies, business ideas, and even some vibe coding. All of a sudden it forgot everything about me and lost ALL of our past month's discussion. Hours and hours of interactions down the drain. Really fucked up.

.@shapesandlines, my favorite game artist, has been working on a new IRL book containing these cool little dungeon delver characters. They are so cool. Makes me want to make a game with them!

Well, the time has come. We have launched a Beta version of our Web based casual game platform called PlayPlace (link below). Our design is optimized for phones. I'll explain more about why we chose the Web in future posts.

I love seeing Todd create his own IP. He is one of the best artists I know. His little dungeon delver dudes are awesome.

In the 1990's we went through a period of incredible experimentation with playful UI. Incredible Toons was an example. We were working on another product that was even crazier, but ended up chickening out and cancelled it. @TopMdw @iconoguy

Of course, @dhh puts this much better than me. Totally agree. "AI in every orifice of the OS" is the best way to put it.

I'm telling you. We're reaching a breaking point. Linux is the release valve. AI is great, but plenty of people don't want it jammed into every orifice of their OS. With the corporate options, you're getting that whether you like it or not.

Am I the only one thinking that I need to get way better at Linux and get a base level Android phone? Or maybe even switch to a dumb phone.

Crap, I was going to buy a new iPad Pro, but it's still freaking 5.1mm thick. I'm not buying until it's less than 5mm.

I finally got around to trying free "full self driving" in my wife's Tesla M3 yesterday. FSD is simply not ready for prime time. Maybe much more AI training will make it advance faster, but I don't see it for a long time. After it is good enough, regulatory concerns kick in.

Unity's pricing is still incredibly outrageous. As a comparable, why is Unity Pro at $2,040 per year (plus a royalty, plus an install fee) when Adobe Creative Suite is only $600 per year for 20 different products? Let's get into this. I don't really have a dog in this hunt

All right! I just noticed I got my blue check, which means I can make longer posts. Honestly for the last 15 years of being on Twitter I rarely posted because the limited length tweets were so confining, and making tweet storms was such a pain.

I finally gave in and paid $84 for the next year to X so I can have long posts. I did that about five days ago, and I still don't have the promised features. Has anybody had a similar experience? @x is there a support channel?

Is it just me, but isn't it a blinding flash of the obvious that longer batter life for an Apple Watch, something like 5-10 days, is way more important than double tapping my fingers to answer a call? Try your watch on a backpacking trip. You can't unless you bring a brick.

Even though Apple Events are not even a shadow of what they used to be, I still dutifully sit down and hope to be amazed every time they have one.

Unity charging a runtime fee would be like Fender charging a little bit to a starving musician every tie they play a song in a dive bar. We need open source alternatives to game engines.

Unity has introduced a new "runtime" fee, which developers incur on a per-install basis for games made with the Unity Engine. https://t.co/2w4KUiIX7H
