My sister is an elementary school teacher in Austin, Texas. It is immensely disturbing that she has the most dangerous job of anyone I know. https://t.co/ZbMQp2vMLu via @nbcnews

Oleksandr Korsun was a Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at Kharkiv National University. He was an expert of ab-initio #molecular #dynamics applied to molecular systems and carbon nanotubes. He was tragically killed under the heavy shelling of #Kharkiv last Thursday.

War in Ukraine has knock-ons for drug discovery. It appears, that this war is disrupting access to a supply of up to 80% of the world’s screening compounds. Thank you, Chemical & Engineering News (C&EN), for bringing up this matter to attention. https://t.co/ronLZBXNmS

Media: @Kasparov63 to @AC360: "There's no way to avoid this confrontation. It's not *if* @NATO confronts #Putin in the skies over #Ukraine or nearby or on the ground. It's when. Better to start now and do it on our terms. There will be no way out if he attacks #NATO countries."

Very sad day for the history of @nytimes in Moscow. Pulling all its correspondents out of the country. We have had reporters there continuously since 1921, with one or two short interruptions due to visa hiccoughs. Not Stalin, not the Cold War, nothing drove us out.

If nothing else, the invasion of Ukraine should remind us that liberal democracy is something that had to be fought for, and we must never forget that.
