The Jays aren’t getting Soto or Alonso, and I think Joc/O’Neill add the power and depth we need, and is a better option than Santander and/or Teoscar.

Do these moves automatically thrust the team ahead of NY and Baltimore? No, but I think it makes the team competitive and in the playoff discussion.

And I know it’s risky giving 2B and 3B to Horowitz and Clement, but free agency is baron at both positions and we don’t have the prospect capital to get anyone elite at either position.

Any of the kids not listed are in Buffalo or traded. Wouldn’t mind some trades to add more strength to the bullpen.

#6 Resign Ryan Yarborough (2/9). A leftie who can give you multiple innings is worth 4.5 a year.

#5 Sign Michael Soroka. Should be pretty cheap - 1/2 or 1/3? If you look at the last couple months it looks like he might have figured it out. Between Francis, Rodriguez and Soroka you have your 4 & 5 starter plus a length guy/spot starter.

#4 Sign Carson Kelly (3/18). He can split time with Kirk 50/50, and either Kirk or Kelly can DH against LHP, instead of Joc.

#3 Sign Tanner Scott (4/65). The Jays need another high leverage arm and between Scott, Romano, Green you should be able to cover off late and close situations.

#2 Sign Joc Pederson (3/45) and Tyler O’Neill (4/66) to hit behind him. Joc to DH, O’Neill in LF. By putting jock between Vladdy and Ty, you also protect him against LHR.

#1 Extend Vladdy. I think 11 years 310 million would get it done, but at this point if it’s 325 or 350 you have to get it done.
