The work is not over, but already I am completely amazed by the ingenuity of citizens, the hard work of the local government officials, and the unfathomable diversity of India. Many thanks to my team: Anindya, Vinay, Shubhangi, Sayak, and Samyadeep.

Next, Odisha. Again, completely different challenges, house designs, and very different governance practices. The work is hard but the combination of citizens and officials persevere.

From Ladakh to Kerala. No rain to incessant rain. The houses and beneficiaries adapt, and the officials are as hard working. What a country we live in.

Ladakh — both Leh and Kargil — is beyond words. So proud of IIMA team and grateful to UT officials for traveling and conducting surveys here right after Op Sindoor. I will never forget the magnanimity of the people of Ladakh. Even the poorest in remote areas offer refreshments.

From AP to Assam. Again, incredibly helpful state officials, including very senior officials. The Brahmaputra at sunset is a must see.

Next, Andhra Pradesh. The state officials were incredibly efficient and helpful. The beneficiaries were gracious with their time and insights.

The data collection exercise started with Uttarakhand, where I also had a chance to interact with senior IAS officers at LBSNAA.

Steffi’s footwork was just breathtaking. Her slice was a guillotiné, her forehand perfection. Immaculate temperament, complete champion. She remains a joy to watch after all these years.

It’s been a month of more than 9000 primary surveys of PMAY-G (PM rural housing scheme) beneficiaries. Great collab with Anindya, RAs, interns @IIMAhmedabad & researchers from 12 states & 24 districts in India. Glad to present initial findings in this high quality MoRD workshop.
