💡Pseudonymization is a technique where personal data is transformed to make it no longer directly attributable to a specific individual without the use of additional information, which must be kept separately and secured.

✅Educate employees on phishing and social engineering risks.✅Apply software updates and security patches without delay.✅Limit access to sensitive data using role-based controls .✅Test and update your incident response plan.

What you can do: .Regularly back up your data and store it securely (suggested to have 3 copies stored in different locations) . Ensure data is pseudonymized and encrypted - so if your data is exfiltrated (stolen), it cannot be used.

and (e) measures to ensure adherence to the technical and organisational requirements specified in the other provisions of this Act.

(d) a process for regularly testing, assessing and evaluating the effectiveness of technical and organisational measures for ensuring the security of the processing;.

(c) the ability to restore the availability of, and access to, personal data in a timely manner in the event of a physical or technical incident.

The technical and organizational measures in the Act include .(a) pseudonymisation and encryption of personal data .(b) the ability to ensure the ongoing confidentiality, integrity, availability and resilience of processing systems and services.

Section 30 of the Jamaican Data Protection Act (The 7th standard) states that appropriate technical and organizational measures shall be taken against unauthorized or unlawful processing of personal data and against accidental loss or destruction of, or damage to, personal data.

Under the Jamaica Data Protection Act (JDPA), organizations are required to implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal data against threats like ransomware.
