The worst thing about No Way Home is how studio and empty it feels. Strange and Peter talk on entirely empty streets, every fight is so clearly done on a soundstage. It feels incredibly fake and lifeless visually.
Tom Holland says ‘SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY’ will focus on shooting in real locations & using old school filmmaking. “We were really restricted with what we could do in the last movie because of COVID… Now we’re really gonna lean into that old school filmmaking & shoot in real

ITS BEEN 8 YEARS SINCE A DC MOVIE OPENED ABOVE $100M?!.
Box office: With a $122M opening, SUPERMAN is the 1st superhero film to cross $100M in its domestic bow since DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE ($211M last summer). And it’s the 1st DC title to cross $100M in 8 long years. WONDER WOMAN ( $103.3M in 2017)

Here's the thing: RJ used his credit off of TLJ to make Knives Out, one of the only new IPs to be made in the last 6 years. Off of this he got $100M to make 2 sequels for Netflix and KEEP the rights. Its in his best interest, financially and critically, to make new stuff.

My thoughts exactly. Also like Spider-Man 1 it’s elevated by recent real world events.
People saying Superman gave them Spider-Man 2 vibes is a little nuts when its WAAYYYY more Spider-Man 1. Makes up for issues with its sheer commitment and love for the character and medium with some insane visual choices (complimentary).

Man of Steels numbers were great in 2013, the DCEU only started to bleed with Justice League. What matters is that the movie opens solid (above $100M), holding well and garnering good will. Only caring about Box Office records is a cancer for this industry.
DC’s new SUPERMAN needs to hit $900M worldwide. That’s the number. It hits that, and you can’t argue it’s success. For those keeping track…2013’s MAN OF STEEL swooped up $924M adjusted for inflation.
