6/6 TLDR - We've been walking the tightrope, balancing marketing, development and user testing. Then we do more marketing and REPEAT. And #yall, we are starting to see some success. https://t.co/c9rrR2RuYV

5/6 What now? We ask for feedback, build what people ask for, and juice up our premium offer. That's what I'm on. Also... There's a massive project happening in the background to increase our retention, create an alternative monetization scheme and make this thing super fun.

4/6 After releasing, I started pumping on #reddit again (check out my other posts on how to do that) and now we have 9 active free trials. Seems at least 1 in 10 users are giving it a shot.

3/6 We were only showing the premium offer when people attempted to use a premium feature. So.. we added pressure by showing the screen when people finish signing up. We also added another premium feature. (Many more are also on the way).

2/6 This came after an experiment and an adjustment. Last month, we failed to get anyone to bite after introducing our initial premium offer and getting over 200 users to create accounts.

1/6 About 1 in 10 users who download our app (@polychatapp) are now signing up for free trials. Some of which we can expect to convert to payed trials. Here's how that happened. #buildinpublic

Holy F*ck, 2 people (that I don't know) just kicked off trials on Polychat in the last 3 hours. Sounds like not much, but this is actually a monumental moment. 1-3% conversion is the magic number. Once we hit that, we start pumping ads.
