3/3 Once again monkeypox outbreak demonstrates importance of global health and coordinated public health responses, difficult given underresourced public health systems.

2/3 🔑 take-aways: - spread via close skin to skin contact - flu-like prodrome followed by lesions - PCR for diagnosis, expanded testing needed - tx symptomatic, tecovirimat for severe cases (under IND) - vaccines available for those at high-risk though demand > supply
