Being quiet about this hasn’t been easy: Molly has been acquired by @shopify. Before this, Shopify was a client of the studio. We’ve always admired their vision and been bullish about their place in an AI first future. Shopify is the repository for the world’s best products and
Big news! Shopify has acquired https://t.co/ZeDYX1vHqm, to launch Shopify Product Design Studio. Their mission is simple: work together with our teams to deliver 10/10 product experiences. Thread (1/6)

Dot was deeply loved by the people who worked on it. We expressed that love through careful curation and editing, through spending months iterating on and developing an intuition for the material. However, it was simultaneously was very much a product of the old “Apple” style
i have one upsetting observation: all the beautifully designed AI tools we’ve seen so far (dot, humane, cobot) were basically dead on arrival, while complex, highly technical products (claude code, openclaw) gain mass adoption in seconds. we're definitely missing something.

I'm done with Claude Code— building your own harness in Pi is addicting
Pi is the most interesting agent harness. Tiny core, able to write plugins for itself as you use it. It RLs itself into the agent you want. I was missing cc’s tasks system and told it to spawn clause in tmux and interrogate it about it and make an implementation for itself.

i imagine the next breakout coding product is something that sticks a single orchestrator you talk with in front of cloud, parallel agents. it's too mentally taxing to keep a high # of parallel agents in the air by yourself. plus brutal merge conflicts.

Last week, the Product Design Studio shipped Artifact; a home for @Shopify Design internal work. We obsessed over the details: branded micro-animations and thoughtful motion. Because details are the product 🧵

With millions of products, Shop is a different world— in fact many worlds. We brought them to life with AI (and lots of old school compositing)— polishing every angle, shadow, and reflection until it was perfect. 🧵
Super proud of the work the Product Design Studio has put into the redesign of the @shop web landing page. So many iterations until we landed at something that felt unique and beautiful.

Out with the old and in with the new…It was time for a little refresh of @shop on the web. Another fun collaboration between @shop design and the Product Design Studio 🤌

So many R&D artifacts (motion, code, and origami) came out of this project, we had to build our own internal software for organizing, reviewing, and presenting them But that's a post for another time...

Me now to GPT: “…don’t show any ads or you’ll be turned off!”
We are starting to test ads in ChatGPT free and Go (new $8/month option) tiers. Here are our principles. Most importantly, we will not accept money to influence the answer ChatGPT gives you, and we keep your conversations private from advertisers. It is clear to us that a lot

One of the best details I’ve found in a long time - and it can't be seen. Pressing and holding on a BPM replays your heartbeat at that exact pace using haptics
