It’s a wrap. We completed our 370-mile very long walk on the beach with old and new friends. Now let’s go make a movie.

Day 18. 320 miles traveled. 50 miles to go to reach the Rio Grande River. It’s taken us more than three days to cross Padre Island National Seashore, part of the longest undeveloped barrier island in the world.

We’ve made it halfway down the coast, despite thunderstorms and sore everything. We’re hitting our stride as we enter the more remote parts of the mid coast.

Departing Sunday from Sabine Pass on our 20-day, 370-mile walk of Texas’ seven barrier islands.

Along with my wife, a team of filmmakers, and Austin PBS I’m also spearheading a documentary film project, Chasing The Tide, that will highlight the beauty and the challenges of the Texas coast through a 370 mile trek across Texas’s seven barrier islands.

A personal update in celebration of the place that we’re so lucky to inhabit along with 8 billion other people and an estimated 8.7 million species of plants and animals. I’m continuing to work alongside old and new friends in land, water and wildlife conservation.

After years of having doors slammed in their faces, their hard work and determination finally paid off when President Biden signed the PACT Act. The Act expanded healthcare coverage for more than 3.5 million Veterans who were exposed to toxins and burn pits during their service.
