But as long as it is awarded and hyped in the manner that it is today, it seems to me to be more of a liability than an asset to the game.

These are some of the reasons I have grown to detest the Heisman. It places far too much value on self in a sport that is supposed to be all about team. The Heisman could still be a valuable thing to the sport of college football.

How many kids get hurt and have to miss a bowl game or even a playoff game because the coach left them in too long and somebody took a cheap shot? How many championships are at risk every week only for the hope of winning this trophy?

Is a kid playing on a decent team with a weak schedule better than a kid on the team with the toughest schedule in the country simply because on paper he threw or ran for more yards?

The Heisman, itself, might be my absolute biggest pet peeve. How many coaches will keep their QB1 in a game two quarters after a game has been decided just to pad his Heisman race numbers? How many unnecessary points will be scored for the same reason?

What about the kid who has never played before but is going to have an incredible season? What about the kid returning from a big injury and has outworked everybody in the country and whose numbers will be off the charts? And there are so many others out there….

I stand by my statement. But here’s the kicker. Already they are hyping favorites for the Heisman… before most of the candidates have even played a down in 2025! Some of the favorites are kids who have only started a few games last season.

One of my biggest pet peeves is preseason football polls, especially these days. Teams have different coaches and different players. We don’t know anything about team chemistry or how hard they have worked relative to others teams.

The star of The Apprentice became a Democrat in 2001 but missed the 2001 and 2005 primaries for mayor. In 2002 records show he also appears to have skipped the general election.

It wasn't just local elections Trump missed. The tycoon also failed to cast his vote in several presidential primaries, including in 1988 and 1996.

Back in 1989 Trump voted in the primary for mayor when Rudolph Giuliani beat business magnate Ronald Lauder, but according to the documents, Trump failed to show up at the primaries after that for over 20 years.

Some people have expressed outrage over a current Georgia candidate for US Senate’s having missed voting in some elections in years past, saying missing voting in elections was a disqualifier for them. Guess who else had the same problem during his initial campaign? Donald Trump.

The more people I converse with like myself, folks MAGA labeled “Never Trumpers” years ago, the more I realize we all largely share one key exception to the “Never Trump” rule when voting, when the life of the country is at risk. #gapol

If you have an old Trump/Pence sign and wish to upgrade it to a 2024 model, simply change the P to a V and the e to an a, and you are all done. Follow me for more political sign modification ideas. 😎 🇺🇸

Under the 22nd Amendment, if Biden can stay in this race, get re-elected, and hang on for two years, Kamala can take over, run in 28, win, run again in 32, win, and serve until January of 37. If this does not motivate Republicans to turn out, I’m not sure what will.

Regarding Georgia and Georgia Tech… “I gave up. You did too….” These Dawgs are special. That was some comeback to take this thing to extra innings and then to put up these kind of runs in the tenth. ⚾️ 🐾
