No one should care how a kindergartener compares on a standardized test with kindergarteners around the country. They should care if the kindergartener feels cared for, valued, and actually enjoys coming to school to learn. Its Kindergarten!

Students work harder for teachers who value, care and respect them. And Adults do too! Relationships before rigor.

This makes me sad. Educators need time!! Not earlier start dates. And while I recognize that #learningloss is real- and urgent- just extending the school year is not the answer. #MentalHealthMatters

Wow, I can't believe how many teachers wrote back to say they are due at school within the next week or so. Take care of yourselves. Seriously.

Educators earn FAR less than other professionals requiring advanced degrees & often accrue significant debt to prepare for the profession. Increasing IDEA Part D funding & expanding federal loan payback opportunities can help address key barriers to entering the field. #SELS2022
