Sad news breaking tonight about the death of Bagatelle frontman Liam Reilly. One of Ireland's greatest songwriters, he leaves an unbelievable legacy of songs. Only set to turn 66 on Jan 29th, he has been taken far too soon. Hopefully he gets remembered in Dundalk as he should

Filippo Giovagnoli and Giuseppe Rossi have departed Dundalk FC after saying goodbye to the players at training this morning. Difficult period of late but no one can take their achievements away from them. Two good guys and I wish them well in the future.

Patrick Hoban will be a Dundalk player next season. The striker's re-signing for a 7th season at Dundalk is expected to be announced soon with others to follow. Hoban will now aim to become the top scorer in the club's history. He is 18 goals away from overtaking Joey Donnelly

16 years ago today Dundalk lost one of its greatest footballers following the passing of Barry Kehoe at just 40 years of age. Barry played for the club 251 times, scoring 40 goals, winning the league in 81/82 and a league and FAI Cup double in 87/88.

Led to believe talented local teenager Ryan O'Kane has been offered a contract by Dundalk after impressing in pre-season. The former Bellurgan player was Player of the Tournament at the SuperCupNI in 2018 and made his NIFL Premiership debut for Warrenpoint at just 15 a year later

Usually on a Sunday evening I'd call Vinny Perth for a catch up on all things Dundalk FC. The death of Harry Taaffe meant I gave it a miss this weekend but a heartbroken Vinny still text me with a message paying tribute to his "right hand man"
