Mine clearance is a key part of the UK’s support for Cambodia. Last week, Amb @DomWUK joined partners at HALO Trust in Siem Reap to discuss 2025 plans, see demonstrations, visit minefields and observe EORE work. Proud to support HALO’s life-saving efforts.

Landmines don’t disappear when the fighting stops. In parts of Syria, they continue to pose a major threat to people’s lives. UNHCR, and UN partners, are providing essential support to affected communities—helping families stay safe and rebuild toward a more secure future.

At #UMAC2025 in Tokyo, @TheHALOTrust shared its vision for a tech-driven mine free future. Under our new strategy, we’re expanding innovation to cut false alarms below 50% by 2030. In 2024 we dug over 6 million evacuations by hand. By 2030, 90% will be done by machines.

Since 2022, HALO has surveyed 51.5 million square metres and made more than 12 million square metres of land safe in 🇺🇦 #Ukraine. The challenge of explosive contamination in Ukraine remains immense - but so too does the determination of the Ukrainian people and their deminers.

HALO is proud to contribute to the national effort in Lao PDR with the support of our donors. In 2024, our teams cleared almost 17 square kilometres and destroyed nearly 9,000 submunitions in Savannakhet province, returning land to farming families and making communities safer
