I'm usually critical of US strategy but the Chinese should consider that bad performance in Army-centric nation-building (Iraq, etc) is not a good predictor for a Navy/Air Force-centric island defense, especially if the goal is to inflict maximum damage on Chinese forces.

#Russia's constant goal since the 1990s has been to use negotiation with the US to reaffirm its diminished superpower status and extract concessions through clever negotiating ploys and intimidation.

Some in #Congress talk about a comprehensive strategy to counter #China. What it needs:.-counter narrative for foreign audiences using VOA.-strategic foreign aid using a reformed AID.-a more nimble military.-charismatic political leadership (think JFK).-willingness to use covert.

This is an important piece because despite all the huffing and puffing on the Hill & elsewhere, #China is winning. I hope we can reverse this. Victory for liberal democracy is not foreordained.

Working on a short piece noting that the #Houthi seem to be doing well without #AI or advanced chips, since they have secure supply lines, intel support from Iran and China, and a disdain for the US after its defeats.
