Sharing again for the afternoon crowd. This was an urban-based study, but now I'm living in the countryside I'm increasingly aware of the dearth of opportunities for writers living outside metropolitan areas. Does anyone know of any work to promote networks of rural writers?
The article I co-wrote with James Annesley has been published by Creative Industries journal. In it, we discuss the North-East's literary ecology (how contemporary writing happens and is supported, basically) through the prism of @NewWritingNorth π§΅

If anyone interested in literary ecosystems is still here, do please read and comment. Now that I no longer live on Tyneside, I'm slightly disconnected from the NE context, and increasingly drawn to how contemporary Lit/CW is supported in rural communities. Anyone got experience?
