I lived with a Chinese EV for a few weeks to see if the hype is real. The car costs $42K, and turns out it feels like $75K+ EASILY One of the most impressive things I've ever reviewed: https://t.co/EHe358cvLt - A+ software and features. Feels like what would happen if Apple

I'm constantly slipping and searching for "claude" in Spotlight when I'm actually trying to open iTerm--I'm pretty always subsequently launching Claude Code

Zach Lowe was my favorite person at ESPN. Shocked they laid him off. I must be really out of touch because it just doesn't make sense to me

We think this is the first step in a gradual process to introduce a child to a smartphone. Right now, parents hold out as long as possible but once they give in it's a fire hose. More to come! PS: I would love to hear about how you handle screen time in your family today!

The other cool thing about this video is I think it was the first one to use the robotic arm which kind of blew my mind at the time. My first reaction to the video was actually "wow that specs shot was so cool" not about the review itself

I'm super proud of how this phone helped start @POCOGlobal. I vividly remember when @leijun first told us about the idea of making the brand and I desperately wanted to be a part of it. Winning the @MKBHD budget phone of year award is on my resume!

12. Camera is where most budget phones fall apart. We put some good on paper hardware in there but getting the tuning right is just as important. "Not flagship but not bad" is about as good as we could hope for. As long as it's not a major con to the phone, it's a win

11. 4k mAh wasn't that common on flagship phones, but was an early inclusion for us. We knew we weren't going to win design awards with a plastic back, so we might as well have a big battery.

10. I also reached out to a bunch of custom ROM developers with the generous help of @MishaalRahman and was able to provide devices so that they could make custom ROMs for people that really just wanted stock Android https://t.co/mW7ETyTtBe

We're looking to expand the list of custom ROM developers that @IndiaPOCO sends devices to. Please head over to @xdadevelopers and vote for your favorite! https://t.co/XtQGlTnZii

9. I decided to take a risk to give him a beta version of MIUI because it had some notification changes that made it more similar to stock Android. POCO also had an app drawer. I figured software was our biggest risk of getting dinged globally but I think that risk paid off

8. Marques called out the "by @Xiaomi" on the back of the phone when talking about the specs which is absolutely spot on. We had access to the Xiaomi supply chain, doing the POCO F1 would have been impossible without it

7. Conversation around the headphone jack seems dated now but back then it was a big thing, especially for the core audience of this phone

6. Kevlar was our answer to "plastic is cheap" people. It's not easy to add a glass or metal variant because those materials affect the rest of the phone more strongly (also $$$). One of my colleagues came up with kevlar, I was initially against it but came around with samples

5. I personally wasn't a fan of the notch but people told us it made the phone feel premium and we legit did need more space for the face recognition hardware. There was an option to hide the notch in software though!

4. The amount of curve on the corners wasn't ideal but it was the best we could do without increasing the cost a lot. We tested it with software first and decided that it wasn't as bad once you used the phone for awhile
