Final: Navy defeats Florida Atlantic, 42-32 and is 7-0 for the first time since 1978. Coleman Cauley with a career-day defensively, 9 tackles, an interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery. Blake Horvath with 174 rushing yards and four touchdowns.

FAU’s onside kick is unsuccessful and Blake Horvath takes the following play for 31 yards and a score, his fourth touchdown of the day. Mids with a commanding 42-19 lead with 5:29 to play.

Florida Atlantic scores a touchdown to get within 35-19 but is denied on the two-point conversion. 5:38 remaining and the Mids nearing a 7-0 start for the first time since 1978.

Blake Horvath with his third rushing touchdown of the afternoon as Navy now takes a commanding 35-13 lead. The Mids have scored a touchdown after each of FAU’s three turnovers.

Coleman Cauley continues his monster defensive performance with his first career interception that came off the foot of an FAU receiver. Cauley has 8 total tackles, an interception, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

Navy quickly capitalizes off the turnover with a 3-play, 41-yard drive. Brandon Chatman keyed the series with a 36-yard run, continuing a career afternoon with 10 carries for 141 yards. Alex Tecza scored the touchdown, 28-13 Mids with 13:47 remaining.

Coleman Cauley with a massive play for the Mids’ defense. He punches the ball out from behind on FAU wide receiver Dom Henry. Cauley also recovered the fumble and is making a major impact in his first start of the season. He has a career-high 8 total tackles as well.

Navy goes for it on fourth-and-2 from the FAU 19-yard line and is stopped for a third straight time. Mids still lead 21-13 with 10 seconds left in the third quarter. Navy is just 2-for-5 on fourth down this afternoon.

Garrison Smith misses a 49-yard field goal and Navy’s defense with a critical stand. Adam Klenk battled Caden Veltkamp’s third-and-10 pass, which led to an incompletion. Navy leads 21-13 with 6:31 left in the third quarter.

Navy goes for it fourth-and-3 from the Owls’ 42-yard line and Eli Heidenrich is stopped a yard short and FAU takes over for its first possession of the second half. 21-13 Mids with 10:25 left in the third quarter.

Navy elects to go for it on fourth-and-goal from the 2 and gets stuffed as Brandon Chatman is tackled at the 1-yard line. Mids lead 21-13 at the half and start the second half with the ball.

After Navy’s first turnover of the day, the defense responds and forces the Owls into a three-and-out. Navy leads 21-13 with 5:31 left in the first half.

FAU with its second field goal of the game, this time Garrison Smith from 38 yards. Mids’ defense doing a good job of tightening up in the red zone thus far as they lead 21-13 with 7:37 left in the first half.

Navy leads 14-10 after one quarter and will start the second in FAU territory on the 27-yard-line. If you like offense this is the game for you, Mids and Owls combined for 282 yards in that first quarter.
