I spent time at Karmel Mall this week, and many of the small businesses that are usually bustling were closed. Immigrant-owned businesses are hurting right now — and they need our support and more than ever. Go shop!

It’s -10 degrees and thousands still showed up strong in Minneapolis. That’s who we are.

Reposting as a reminder of how awesome Minneapolis is as JD Vance visits again. And to everyone around the country, we would love to have you!

When the federal gov weaponizes its power to intimidate local leaders for doing their jobs, every American should be concerned. We shouldn’t live in a country where federal law enforcement is used to play politics or crack down on local voices they disagree with.

“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” Dr. King said it best. On MLK Day, I’m thinking about his call to stand up for justice, love others, and speak out when power goes too far. As the federal gov moves the opposite way, we’ll keep standing with our neighbors.

This is an obvious attempt to intimidate me for standing up for Minneapolis, local law enforcement, and residents against the chaos and danger this Administration has brought to our city. I will not be intimidated. My focus remains where it’s always been: keeping our city safe.

Tonight a man was shot in the leg by an ICE agent on the Northside. No matter what led up to this incident, the situation we are seeing in our city is not sustainable.

Cutting off funding for our most vulnerable families and children because the states they live in don’t agree with your values is un-American.

These prosecutors are heroes, and the people pushing to prosecute Renee's widow are monsters. In their pursuit of cruelty, the administration also just set back the work of fighting fraud by pushing out the prosecutors who were working on those cases.

We’re suing the Trump admin for their unconstitutional attacks on our neighbors. They’re not pro-business or pro-safety. Their actions are purely political — and Minneapolis and our partners are done with it.

Shout out to the thousands who protested peacefully across Minneapolis yesterday. We had a calm night with very few issues. The Trump administration wants chaos to be met with chaos—but we won’t give it to them.

Today is a good day for ICE to get out of Minnesota.

But to anyone who causes property damage or puts others in danger: you will be arrested. We are standing up to Donald Trump’s chaos not with our own brand of chaos, but with care and unity.

I’m inspired by the countless community members who have shown up to provide food, advocate for justice, and help keep the peace — and I am grateful to the vast majority who have ensured we don’t take the bait from the Trump administration.

If the Trump admin has nothing to hide from, then don’t hide from it. Include the BCA and our local experts in the investigation of the death of Renee Nicole Good. Minneapolis wants justice — and we want the truth.
