I thought the Aggies had a solid game. And a win is ultimately what we're looking for. But I don't see a team that is playing elite defense nor rebounding with great effort. That's going to need to improve dramatically if they want to win games against D1 opponents.
Final: New Mexico Highlands 58, New Mexico State 74 Aggies outscore Cowboys 45-34 in the second half to go 2-0. First big test of the season comes this Saturday against rival New Mexico at the Pan American Center.

At this point I think a change in QB is needed. This season is done. Get a young guy some experience. Fife is terrible.
Through 3 drives each, Kennesaw State has 143 total yards and New Mexico State has 1 yard.

Terrible D at best. And complemented well by terrible O. This could be a very long day for the Aggies.

I'd like to see some consistent OL and QB play. Everything else would be gravy. Don't expect the Aggies to compete here. This team isn't good enough to compete and win right now. But I'll be hoping my team wins, like every game.

New Mexico State men's basketball game last night against Adams State was a nice first game. The team has some good talent and plays hard. But, I don't understand how they blocked 14 of our shots. Gotta find a way to put up better shots. Overall a nice win. @NMStateMBB

A lot of coach speak there. The reality is this team isn't good enough to win. I love my Aggies. But I don't see any evidence this team has what it takes to win against even bad teams. We shall see.
NMSU coach Tony Sanchez is keeping the faith: "As far as bowl games and things like that, it's doable. Because mathematically, it is still there, and when I look at our opponents... and you look at the records, and you look at what's possible, it's very possible."

Watching this Aggie offense is frustrating. Thankfully the defense is solid. The O-line pre-snap mistakes and poor blocking are obvious disaster areas.
