Black Panther (2018, rewatch) Probably the biggest disconnect between the actual good parts and generic superhero slop in the MCU? Kinda illustrates how most of these movies can’t escape the corporate meat grinder, though there’s still a lot to love here 7/10

Like, I fucking love Andor but it seems really embarrassed about the weirder parts of Star Wars. This is the only movie to truly embrace every facet of the franchise, cringy or not. Truly the most Star Wars of the series since maybe Empire? Rian Johnson never misses

Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017, rewatch) Fuck you, this rules. Even most of its faults can just be chalked down to being too eager. I can’t believe people ever thought this was cynical or spiteful, it might be the most sincere and earnest Star Wars yet 8.5/10

House of Guinness (2025) Mainly just reheating Peaky Blinders’ nachos. The political intrigue is really half baked, though some of the characters are decent and the soundtrack rips. Maybe a bit hagiographic as well? 5.5/10

Mr. Robot S3 (2017) Unfolds a lot of the mysteries from last season, even more I didn’t expect. I cannot stress enough how awesome it is that every character continues to be important, even after they’re long gone. Episode 7 fucked me up good too 10/10

Zodiac (2007) Patient but never boring, methodical but never too clinical. Great performances and an overall tense atmosphere, maybe not my favorite Fincher film but it’s really well done. Definitely a very intriguing watch 9/10

Parasite (2019, rewatch) God, this movie still rules so much. Endlessly nuanced with such a tight script. Not as funny as I remember but there were still so many moments that stuck in my mind from five years ago. Honestly probably a top ten movie of all time for me 10/10

Ballerina (2025) Really nothing you haven’t seen from a John Wick movie: the palest imitation so far. Incredibly bland story. That being said, the action is as great as ever. Lots of brutal moments that make you wince with a big grin on your face 6/10
