My manager was saying to ask the lady how much longer she had on my head so when I asked ahe responded “I don’t know I’m going as fast as I can” with an attitude so I said “are you really?” WITH AN ATTITUDE BACK
She then said I owed her $125 on top of the $80 I already gave her. I said ma’am if you think I’m about to pay you the full price for a half done job you’re sadly mistaken
And lastly. Imma need us as young black professionals to do better. Even if she wanted to justify what all transpired it’s the simple fact that she handled everything in a personal manner and not in a business manner.
I miss how carefree college was 🥺eating at the caf, having hella ppl to chill with, the yard, late night linkups, random day parties, cookouts.... cus baby the REAL WORLD post undergrad a beast🤧
When I asked her how long / how many more braids she had left she said “im not jumping thru no hoops for nobody” at this point my manager was back otp going off I was like
I said Im not leaving with my hair NOT FINISHED. Shouldn’t be mad at a customer telling you about ur poor customer service like I must have been speaking the truth for her to get that pressed.

for an 11am appointment on friday 7/19/19. I asked for 2 layer Tribal braids. This is what it’s supposed to look like:
Her personal issues she had going were understable however, if I come expecting a 2 hour service, I need that and only that. As a customer, to be dissatisfied? That’s BAD BUSINESS.
The amount of times she RANDOMLY walked away from my head to go smoke cigarettes and or talk otp is BEYOND me. Idc.... it just is. So I started to get angry at this point
We start arguing then she says she’s calling the police because I refused to pay her (for my hair not being done) cus like I said this is before the finished product. My hair was halfway done and if u kick my out ur chair for being honest RUN ME SOME MONEY. Simple
I pick her up, wait for her to get off the train we head back to the shop, she washes and blow drys my hair and then finally starts to braid. At this time it’s 2:00
She said something about me having an attitude and I began to express to her that everything thus far: The rescheduling of the appointment, the picking up, the unprofessionalism + me being late for work had me hot and so she said “well if u feel that way you can get out my chair”
Secondly, I would like to say that the purpose of me doing this thread isn’t to bash anyone it’s just simple facts and y’all wanted to know how I got here so 🥴
2. For everyone saying “I wouldn’t have left blah blah” it was ALOT GOING ON... you wouldn’t understand. With emotions and adrenaline going u not thinking straight. I didn’t even see the finished product until I was home
Fast Forward. I had to end up calling my manager to ask if I could come into work late because this lady continued to walk outside and walk away from doing my hair.... very unprofessional
Mind you, at this point my hair wasn’t finished yet... so I said girl I need you to run me my deposit back and my $40 that u randomly asked for like RIGHT NEOW. She refused so then it was a scene.
We went back in the shop after loads of drama and comotion and just when I thought it couldn’t get any more unprofessional the stylist didn’t have cash so she told me to just use my own cash to give another customer her refund deposit?????????????
PAUSE! I forgot to say that when I first got to the shop before she even touched my head she randomly asked for $40. Idk what it was for and she didn’t say either..
Next, she said the police were outside and that she was gonna tell file a “theft of service” on me. I’m like okay I’ll wait for them to come inside. Mind you I’m still supposed to be at work: by this time it was already past 6 going on 7
So here’s the part y’all wanted to know—
1. Did I get my money back? The answer is no because technically she “finished my hair” she just didn’t do what I asked...
Her other customers were backed up too because she was supposed to BEEN finished with my hair so they complained as well as asked for a refund on their deposit.
And so basically she continued to go back and forth with me about everything that had transpired while finishing up my hair.. I felt that was very unnecessary and problematic like u already did the most just finish the job.
I then sat in her chair and called into work to let them know what was going on... then they said that if I don’t come in I’m fired.. so .... that was that..
Then her other customers walk up, the owner of the shop walks up, I explain everything while crying and furious.... the lady talks over me and owns up to nothing. Could of all been resolved by giving me my money back..
I call her and she said her feet are swolen and then she’s walking on foot to the shop 😐 then back door and asked if I could pick her up from the gas station around the block.
3. She didn’t dip my braids or do the ends just said “im done” and walked off .. I ain’t see her outside nowhere but I had to go into work stil because we were short so I had to leave... (not knowing my hair even looked this basura) 🤢
Fast Forward, made it to her shop around 12:30 (yes I was a little late bc 45 is blocked off and the place was downtown) but nevertheless I got there and the stylist wasn’t even there....
I got her booking info off her Ig page and asked her for this style and her availability because I didn’t see the style on her booking link. After we talked I sent her the deposit.
Forgot to mention how the lady also said that I tried to scam her bc I didn’t wanna pay her the full amount for my hair which is a lie. Just mad and upset st the truth.
Somewhere in between all of that I agreed to pay $125 total. Meaning the $80 she already had + $45 TO FINISH MY HAIR bc I couldn’t leave like that and I needed to be at work...
She said the total price was $165 and the deposit was $65. I cash apped her $40 of it. The remaining balance was to be paid in cash after my hair was done.
Mind you, I been told the lady I have work at 4:30pm and she said the service would only take 2 hours.... so im like eh that’s fine to push it til 12 but it’s kinda pushing it...
It’s friday morning, she calls me and asks if she could push my appointment back from 11am to 12am because she had been doing another lady’s hair overnight and wanted to shower + her feet were swollen.

got it gooood. Y’all are about to experience a brand new Grambling. Y’all not gonna have to worry ab being hungry w/ the new caf hours, new amenities, and so on. Y’all better not complain ONCE 😩😂
How do y’all go home and be “bored” on break? 😂 I feel so at peace just relaxing and minding my lil business around the city without being bothered by school shenanigans.
