It's not often your work is read by let alone gets a retweet from a nation's president.

There is the larger issue point of what people require from a travel read. Is it largely about inspiration? I'd say yes with dabs of cultural, political and historical colour. The question is how much politics do you include? How deep do you dig into the historical dirt? Discuss.

I did some mentoring in 2020 via @lottiecgross and @TravWriters. Four years on @dhrutishah & I still check in now and then: I offer advice if poss, she makes me think about the biz. Freelancing is tough. It could be a bit less so if we saw each other as colleagues not competitors.
