Most chickens are hung upside down while conscious, dropped in electrified water, then have their throats cut. If they miss the blade, they get boiled alive. This is what we do to baby animals for nuggets and wings.

The word “meat” helps distance us from what it really is: the body of an animal who didn’t want to die. Whether it’s a pig, a cow or a chicken, they all tried to escape, they all fought to live.

To produce milk, cows are impregnated by a farmer then separated from their calves so we can take the milk. This happens over and over until the cow’s body gives out, then she’s killed. Why support this when we have so many other options?.

"If we didn't eat cows they wouldn't exist" - That sounds reasonable until you apply it to anything else. We don't say “at least they got to live” about child labour or puppy mills. Cows aren’t lucky to be born into slaughter.

We all agree hurting animals for fun is wrong, why do we excuse it for taste? A meal lasts 10 minutes but the animal lost everything. Why do we pretend taste makes it okay.

Pigs, cows and chickens don’t want to die any more than you do. They fight, scream and try to escape. If we respect their lives, we shouldn’t end them for taste or habit.

I’m making a list of everything that would be illegal if it weren’t happening on a farm, stay tuned. Powerful words @Lewis_Bollard. Thank you @dwarkesh_sp for using your platform to speak up for animals.

"VEGANISM IS A CULT!" . Then don’t call yourself a vegan. Labels don’t matter, actions do, and the best way to avoid supporting animal cruelty is to keep animals off your plate.

The "Free-range” label on meat, milk and eggs makes us feel better at the store, but every one of those animals still ends up terrified and killed. The conditions may vary, the outcome never does.

Most people I know avoid watching footage of meat production because deep down they know it’s awful. If what they do to animals is too disturbing to watch, it’s should also be too disturbing to pay for it.

As a vegan, everyone likes to tell me that meat tastes good, as if I don't already know that. But the idea that taste is enough of a reason to shoot, gas or stab an animal to death doesn’t sit right with me. Don't we generally say people who hurt animals for pleasure probably.

I've met a lot of people who eat animals just because it’s what we’ve always done, but just because something is normal doesn’t mean it’s the right thing to do. Something being a huge part of our history doesn't mean it belongs in the present. We can change for the better can't.

Most of us believe we should be good to animals, but we still eat them. We're all hypocrites in one way or another, but I can't imagine someone who believes in being good to people paying to have innocent people killed. The best way to show kindness to animals is to leave them.

Most pigs used for meat are killed in COâ‚‚ gas chambers. They panic, scream and burn as the gas forms acid in their eyes, throats and lungs. If you heard your neighbour was doing this to his pets, you'd call it torture, and that's what it is for these pigs.

Ever notice how you almost never see slaughterhouse tours on TV. There’s a reason. If people had to face the knives, violence, the animals screaming in fear, they’d probably want to stop paying for it. Keeping it hidden is how slaughterhouses survive.

A farmer sent a shocking death threat to a vegan, so I did some digging and found out who he is. I also tried to work out why he did it. The video is up now on my YouTube (link below).

It's surprising to me that a lot of people still don't know that cows make milk for their calves, not us. To get it, we forcibly impregnate them, take their babies away and milk them until their bodies fail. Then we kill them. That's how dairy farming works.

We say “veal” instead of baby cow, “lamb” instead of baby sheep so we don’t have to think about the baby animals we’re eating. And they are babies, some of them are just 3 weeks old when they’re killed.

We say “beef” instead of cow, “pork” instead of pig. Language hides reality so we don’t think about who we’re eating. But meat is always the body of an innocent animal, no matter what we call it.
