I’m heartbroken to learn about the passing of Mel Benson, a former member of Suncor’s board of directors. Mel was a mentor to me and an incredible leader for Suncor and the Indigenous community. I’m grateful for his legacy and offer my condolences to his family and loved ones.

I was very humbled to represent Suncor at the announcement, and I'm grateful to everyone who worked to make this possible. We will continue to build our relationships with the communities, learn from them and move forward together.

It was my pleasure to announce this historic partnership between Suncor and eight Indigenous communities jointly owning an oil sands asset. The Astisiy partnership is going to provide stable and structured income to the communities. It's a big step toward economic reconciliation.

Canada - as one of the few jurisdictions with industrial-scale commercial CCUS projects in operation -- coupled with Alberta’s abundant natural gas resources, geology and relevant technological expertise - is well positioned to lead in this area.

Collaboration among companies, innovators and governments is critical to achieving ambitious goals. That’s how we built a budding oil sands resource into one of the most reliable and ESG-leading oil basins in the world.

We’re excited about our future. @Suncor’s strategy sets out to profitably increase returns to investors while progressing to net-zero and meeting growing energy needs.

It's exciting for us to be working with @ATCO on this potential project. This is a great opportunity to establish Alberta and Canada as a global leader in clean hydrogen and to make a significant contribution to Canada's net zero goal.

We see carbon capture utilization and storage as a key enabler in meeting our shared environmental objectives. We look forward to working with government through the consultation period.

The Federal budget reinforces the tremendous opportunity for Canadians to work together – across sectors and governments - to build infrastructure that will help Canada get to net zero.

It was exciting to see the winners announced and watch their interviews. @Suncor has supported the Carbon @xprize for five years, and I’m always blown away by the ingenuity, innovation and technology each team brings in providing solutions to climate change.
