Biden calls for 5% rent caps. This is the third such call, and the most specific. Good, but tenants need immediate action, not just talk. POTUS could cap rents in the millions of units with federally-backed loans ASAP and he should.
The rent is too damn high. Most Americans spend more on rent than anything else. The majority of poor tenants spend at least half of their income on housing, 27% spend over 70%. Something's gotta give. People need rent caps.
