Kishori Clubs are in-school safe spaces for adolescent girls, are led by female teachers to enhance girls’ awareness, build their articulation skills, nurture their aspirations, and nudge them towards greater agency.

From Jul to Sep 2024, our 'Hosa Hejje Hosa Dishe' (A New Step in a New Direction) project – supported by @britishasiantst & @BTGroup – conducted orientation workshops for 321 head teachers & 465 female teachers from govt. high schools across the state, to launch Kishori Clubs.

The conference also saw the participation of the Minister of Education, the Commissioner of Public Instruction and other IAS officers of the Government of Karnataka who discussed the various challenges in Kalyana Karnataka, and the state government initiatives to address them.

The 2-day event included presentations by organisations that work in north-eastern Karnataka, & group activities with case studies from the region. Karthik presented the work done by ITfC's adolescent girl empowerment project Hosa Hejje Hosa Dishe (A New Step in a New Direction).
