💊 Bubonic plague is prevalent in the Malagasy highlands. It is currently treated with antibiotics that, until now, had not been rigorously tested in humans.

🦠 Plague is caused by the bacterium Yersinia pestis and has had devastating effects on humanity for nearly 5000 years. #Bubonicplague is the most common form, and manifests in painful lumps called ‘buboes’.
