Someone asked what advice founders ignore. That they: 1. Should change their name. 2. Should launch fast. 3. Shouldn't treat fundraising as success. 4. Shouldn't assume they can raise because it's time to. 5. Should fire bad people quickly. 6. Shouldn't talk to acquirers.

We believe this is the new way of discovering things: set a scope and spend compute to explore the search space. We also believe this could be an interesting, inspectable open-ended benchmark of model quality in autonomous exploration.

Past few months have been surreal Going from automated research researcher to automated research founder feels very full circle, and the intention is to add a few more loops there. We’ve iterated a bunch in our private alpha. Super excited about our public beta. Stay tuned ⬢

we're officially live with the open beta of Flywheel. Flywheel is Paradigma's vision on what autonomous research will run on. We've built all of this pre-funding, so expect the pace to accelerate significantly. Super eager to hear your feedback and your ideas. I'll be live

Prediction: In the AI age, taste will become even more important. When anyone can make anything, the big differentiator is what you choose to make. https://t.co/3GQUlfH58t

Thanks @iremingoz for dropping by our HQ to meet the aspiring founders in our Venture Building program and for sharing some great insights about VC and all the cool stuff going on in the funding world.

This is a good example of a subtle but important aspect of Y Combinator. There are certain tunnels in society through which talented outsiders can become insiders much more rapidly than everywhere else, and YC is one of them.
In honor of @ycombinator's 20th birthday I thought I'd share why this institution means so much to me. I graduated from a public high school in a small western NY town surrounded by farms and factories.

This whole debate about where you need to be to build a startup is silly. Can't we just agree that you can create a great company from anywhere as long as you're determined, have a bit of luck, and are in the bay area?

Historically, letting technology eliminate their jobs has been a sacrifice people have made for their kids' sakes. Not intentionally, for the most part, but their kids ended up with the new jobs created as a result. No one weaves now, and that's fine.

We ask ourselves: Would I invest in these founding teams for life? Getting to a long-term commitment after a couple of 30-minute meetings and a bunch of Q&A over emails is extremely hard, but it's possible.

These YC pre-demo day weeks have been intense, and I tried to re-learn how investing should work at the very early stages. For us, it's investing in founders. Products change, companies evolve, and initial good ideas may become dumb after a while.

Hey @elonmusk, wouldn't it be nice to tell Twitte.. ehm X, what we want to get in our feed using natural language? Like, "Please, no Italian ads" or "Show me Bay Area fundraising news first" or "For 30 days prioritize YC S23 posts".
