casually using that term not only misrepresents the situation, it also disrespects the history and victims tied to it. it spreads misinformation, minimizes real harm, and shifts attention away from what this should remain about: him learning, taking accountability, and be better.

however, using this situation to just bring up unrelated hate towards the band takes away from the real issue. also, labeling junhan with extreme and historically heavy accusations adds more harm than good. ignorance is not the same as holding hateful and violent beliefs.

junhan apologized twice through a handwritten letter and on bubble. jype also released an apology. while he’s taken steps to apologize it’s valid for people to not be ready to accept it right away. everyone processes things differently and their feelings shouldn’t be invalidated.

i won’t be posting anything related to junhan until he properly addresses this. if he stays silent that already says so much for me. i’m very firm and intentional about the people i choose to support, and i can’t continue standing by someone who refuses to take accountability.

he needs to acknowledge the harm he caused and apologize not to protect the band, his image or whatsoever, but because it’s the bare minimum of what accountability looks like. until then, we’ll keep holding him accountable.

he needs to genuinely understand that what he said was harmful. he needs to take accountability, educate himself, and seriously reflect on the weight of his words.

even if junhan didn’t mean any harm, it doesn’t change the fact that what he said was harmful. it also shows how ignorant he is. speaking on something as serious as eugenics without fully understanding its weight is irresponsible especially when you are a public figure.

that topic is not something you can talk about carelessly especially when it’s tied to histories of oppression, genocide, racism, and ableism, things that have deeply harmed marginalized communities for generations. they’re lived experiences that continue to impact people today.

no one else is at fault here but junhan. it’s crazy that some people are blaming the person who translated his statements or even the one who asked him for help on bbl. it’s him who brought up eugenics like it was just another casual topic. that’s on him, no one else.
