Too many rappers/producers blindly dropping music w/ out context, substantive prepromotion, building relationships, connecting w/ fans or reciprocating support w/ true value. Not to mention, no interest/attempt to elevate the bar. Like the game starts when they drop a new track.

About Hop Hop. Don't ever forget, in the 1970s and '80s socioeconomically disenfranchised youth in New York's inner city created a CULTURE that was adopted and co-opted by the globe.

Hip Hop has devolved. Folks love to excuse ignorance. '80s birthed a plethora of impactful visonaries w/ a spirit of positivity, intellect, empowerment, etc. (Furious Five, Run DMC, Rakim, KRS, PE, etc.) Today, so much of what they call "hip hop" fails to live up.

Those who insinuate that violence is part of Hip Hop culture lack knowledge of its purpose and history. Hip Hop was an antidote to urban blight created by brilliant inner city youths who chose creativity and positivity as a way to persevere over the conditions they were dealt.
