New political maps don't pay your utility bill or put food on the table.

Rep. Robin Shackleford, D-Indianapolis, asked redistricting bill author Rep. Ben Smaltz how many map options did the National Republican Redistricting Trust give them. Smaltz said there was only one.

Dems are getting feisty. They are speaking on the floor saying the rules aren't being followed. They say according to statute the House Minority leader has to be consulted to come to session early. Minority Leader GiaQuinta says he wasn't consulted and he didn't agree.

Protesters have stopped chanting to listen in to chamber business where Democrats are challenging Republicans, arguing they are breaking House rules. Cheers have punctuated Minority Leader GiaQuinta’s and Rep. Pierce’s comments.

House Republicans just released their proposed congressional map. This won't make life more affordable. Most Hoosiers will tell you that the government does little for them. How does a new map make government more efficient? It doesn't.

🦃 Indiana House Democrats wish you and your family a very happy Thanksgiving. As we gather with family and friends this holiday season, our members are rolling up their sleeves to give back to their communities.

Indiana Republicans announced today that they're caving to Washington, D.C. Hoosiers deserve leaders who fight for them and their interests, not leaders who prioritize politics over their needs. House Democrats will continue to fight for a stronger, more affordable state.

I meant what I said: Children are children. Full stop. If you’re not old enough to drive or vote, you’re not old enough to be married. Indiana still allows 16-year-olds to get married — even to adults. I’m filing a bill this session to end child marriage. It’s time.
