Żywiec-"Brackie"* 🇵🇱 #1001Beers No.779C (all editions) 5 Jul 2024. 👃: Nice, slightly sweet; Marcona Almonds/ frangipane; a little lawn; toffee apple hints.  👅:  Pleasing 🍋 juice crepe. Quick-dry end, with toast+ toffee🍏+ slight fizz.   *Thought it was Cieszyn's "Brackie"; no!

Cieszyn-"Lager" *5.0% 🇵🇱 #1001Beers No.779B (all editions) 5 Jul 2024.  Soft+smooth.👃: Nice hay, mixed peel+ boiled corn nose. 👅: spritz-y.  Ends with light biscuit-y malt. *2 of 2 substitutes for "Brackie" (retired). The better of the 2 substitutes, I think.

Cieszyn-"Pilsner" *4.7% 🇵🇱 #1001Beers No.779A (all editions) 5 Jul 2024. Very like UK-brewed Carlsberg.👃: Baked corn, baguette, a whiff of lemon/orange juice. 👅: slight vodka-like astringency. Dry baguette/ sunflower seed end. *1 of 2 substitutes for "Brackie" (retired).

Samson-"1795"* 🇨🇿 #1001Beers No.778 (all editions) 5 Jul 2024. Bready, soft +drinkable beer. 👃: baguette, boiled 🌽 sweetness; hint of dried apricot 👅: supremely soft.  Doughy, soft landing (again with a mixed peel sweetness).  *Surely same 4.7% beer as "Premium" (or 11°?)

Van Pur-"Mocne" 🇵🇱 #1001Beers #1001Beers No.777 (all editions) 5 Jul 2024.  Made me think of Estrella Damm, which is no bad thing. 👃: biscuit ("Rich Tea"-type), tarte tatin whiffs.👅;  like 🍏  @van_pur - this beer is probably too good to hide it in petrol stations like Orlen.

Van Pur-"Strzelec Jasne Pełne" 🇵🇱  #1001Beers No.776 (all editions) 5 Jul 2024.  👃: crackers, a little butter, 'black pudding' sausage. 👅: frankfurter / slightly porky light malt.  Quite a bitter, slightly herby finish (not unlike UK-brewed "Stella Artois").

Sly Fox-"Pikeland Pils" 🇺🇸 #1001Beers No.775 (all editions) 28 Jun 2024.  Competent, enjoyable hoppy pils.  ❤️ the herby North German hops 👃: bit like buttered samphire/romaine lettuce, or cedar wood. 🌽👅; crispy baked corn end. Big up Big Mick's Imports! 🎶 @MonkeyBasket

Mikkeller-"Black" 🇩🇰/🇧🇪 #1001Beers No.774 (all editions) Jun 2024. A licorice cognac, really. 👃: choc mousse; açai/raspberry coulis; cognac/calvados; a sweet Shiraz 🍷. 👅: coffee, licorice, raspberry juice. Long boozy end with licorice, brown sugar, raisins+ Rioja.

Yo-Ho-"Tokyo Black Porter" 🇯🇵 #1001Beers No.773 (all editions) Jun 2024. A chocolate-licorice kinda Porter. 👃: cacao nibs, filter ☕️, charred tofu+veg stir fry, (sweet) malt extract. 👅: Coke Zero, Sarsparilla. Ends like licorice with Maribou choc sweets.  Konoji, Oslo- takk!

Yo-Ho-"Yona Yona Ale" 🇯🇵 #1001Beers No.772 (all editions)9 Jun 2024. Like a more floral WCIPA. Powerful but polite nose of orange marmalade, cedar wood, loukumi/turkish delight/rosewater +yuzu.  Bit more caramel/apricot jam in mouth+ on finish, which has a Seville 🍊 bitter bite.

Jolly Pumpkin-"La Roja" 🇺🇸 #1001Beers No.771 (all edns) Jun 2024. The 🍺 for me. 👃: Raspberry ice cream, 🍓 coulis, 🍒 pie, balsamic vinegar, salted caramel ice cream. 👅: pinot noir, blueberry, 🍒 juice, stroopwafel? End:a quick-dry smack of mouthwatering acidity. 🍷-like!

Yards-"George Washington Tavern Porter" 🇺🇸 #1001Beers No.770 (all editions) 8 Jun 2024.  Faint cocoa powder (&milky coffee) throughout. 👅has a little more brown sugar+ stewed prune. Ends highlights the plum-like sweet dark malt. Imported by Quinn & Co, Purveyors of fine beer 😉

Ommegang-"Abbey Ale" 🇺🇸 #1001Beers No.769 (all editions) 25 May 2024. Another dark, well-made beer from Ommegang. A fruity nose, led by 🍊 peel/dried apricot +a little plum, atop brown sugar. Mouth: more brown sugar, raisins, chestnut puree. Classy licorice +raisins bitter end.

...👃: grapefruit/🍊 zest, fresh ginger, mixed peel/physallis fruit, faint herb (thyme, lavender) or grass. 👅: a bit thicker than expected (nice), 🍋 cake-y. Crisp, dried apricot/physallis, fresh ginger +biscuit malt end.

Magic Hat-"#9" 🇺🇸 #1001Beers No.768 (all edns) 10 May 2024. Subtly unusual 'not quite pale ale': like a 🇨🇿 polotmavý mixed with an 'Italian pilsner'.   Thanks to my chums Letterbox Tom and Suitcase Dave for this one! tasting notes follow...

Since Ringwood's closure, this has been trickier than before to find!  Must have had it before, but merited trying again + recording that. Thanks to Keith for looking this out+ Budgens Brighton for being a reliable #trainbeers source.

Ringwood-"Old Thumper"* 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 #1001Beers No.766 (all edns) 22 Apr 2024.  👃: a subtle complexity - 🍊, 🍋 lime swirl on a bed of tea. 👅: more tea(malty bed); also melon. End: more straightforward(like many English bitters)but with a black tea tang or 2. Enjoyed more than I recall.

Staffelberg- "Märzen" 🇩🇪1001Beers No.764 (all edns) 12 Apr 2024. Very subtle nuttiness+ caramel throughout.👃: Faint marzipan +toasted hazelnuts; a little sake wine. 👅: Toasted pine nuts; mineral water. Subtle end: slightly toasted almonds, finishing drily.
