Today in City Pop history, we celebrate the birthdays of both Taeko Ohnuki (November 28, 1953) and Miki Matsubara (November 28, 1959).
Sadly, Miki Matsubara passed away on October 7th, 2004. She would’ve been 62 today.
@retrosofa
Yeah, I never understood why Bandai of America couldn’t import the Japanese R, S, and SuperS dolls here in the US. Those Japanese dolls are nice and I think would have sold well here in the states.
When
@TheRayMona
found the Renaissance-Atlantic Entertainment & Toon Makers, Inc. half-live action/half-animated “Sailor Moon”. With the way the 2020s is going, we needed to come together and enjoy what it could’ve been.
It has a “Princess Gwenevere and the Jewel Riders” vibe.
Aladdin the Series was such a trip. There’s an episode where Jasmine turns into a snake and another one with an evil mermaid giving Jasmine Ariel’s hair with her magic. Oh, and that same evil mermaid turns Aladdin into a shark.
I love
@retrocrush_tv
because it takes me back to watching all of these classic anime movies and shows every Saturday night on the Sci-Fi Channel. Good times.
@yugiohtas
This is why Golden Girls is the much better retro show. It talked about homosexuality and to stop being homophobic (Blanche was very homophobic to her brother Clayton and didn’t want to see him happy), homelessness, age discrimination, the list goes on…
This was 1985-1992.

This, Pokemon Black, Platinum, and Soul Silver got me back into Pokemon during a dark depression in my life. Thanks to a friend saving me and getting me back into Pokemon, I have an appreciation for Emerald being that big bridge into getting me back. I love everything about it.
I love the zany “loose” animation by Yuzo Aoki from the Pink Jacket era (I believe he wanted to simplify the previous design he made earlier on in the series).
I also love the soundtrack too!
It makes me happy to know other fellow bisexuals got my back (as well as others). I wish I had this type of love and acceptance during and after my high school days. Especially now. I definitely know I’m not confused and I am proud to be bisexual. Always.

I know Valentine's Day isn't until this Sunday on the 14th but I couldn't resist making this quick edit. I've tried to link Napoleon and Iskandar's hands together. Surprisingly, this works! Never separate these two. It's like taking salt away from pepper.
Me telling everyone to go watch NADIA: The Secret of Blue Water as well. A friend of mine surprised me with the GKids blu-ray on my birthday last year and I really enjoyed it. Probably my favorite birthday present that year (that and the Lupin Greatest Heists manga)
These two charms I've ordered from

@art_jader
on Etsy really cheered me up. I wanted to support him, especially when I've mentioned it via his Discord community. It was nice that he put the prints too! Not only it was Endeavor (hot bad dad) but also Shinra (best boi)!

@gamesyouloved
It had good gaming magazines and it was a literal golden age of gaming. All the good stuff came out! Street Fighter Alpha 3, Tomb Raider 1-4, Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 1-3, N2O, Turok 1-2, Super Metroid, SMW, SSB, Parasite Eve, Final Fantasy 7-8…
A good gaming time…
Bea Arthur as Dorothy Zbornak in “The Golden Girls” when she told off that awful Dr. Budd because he dismissed her for being a neurotic that was wasting his time. She was diagnosed with CFS. Best acting from Bea.
